Is WordPress on GCP worth it?

Here’s the thing, Google Cloud Platform makes it look like its free to install a wordpress website. What you don’t realize is that once the free part is over, you pay around 15$ a month for the hosting. Other than that you pay for your domain url anywhere between 20-30$ a year, say 2$ a month. So your monthly costs are around 17$.

In comparison, any other normal web hosting charges you 4.50$ a month for hosting. So you are at 6.50$ per month. So the question you need to ask yourself is, do I really need the services of GCP viz. scaling, worldwide network distribution, speed of loading etc. Usually the answer is no, unless it’s a commercial WordPress Site.
